(Final Result) SSC Junior Engineers Exam -2018

The result of Junior Engineer (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical and Quantity Surveying & Contracts) Examination, 2018 (Paper-II) for calling candidates for appearing in Document Verification, was declared on 11.09.2020. On the basis of Cut-Off marks fixed by the Commission in Paper-II, 3800 candidates qualified in Civil Engineering and 883 candidates qualified in Electrical/ Mechanical Engineering for appearing in Document Verification. 

2. On receipt of representations from few candidates, the Commission re-verified/crosschecked all the Answer Books of the candidates appeared in Paper-II of JE Examination 2018. After necessary corrective action, wherever required, the marks in respect of 214 candidates were revised in Paper-II of the said examination. Owing to this, result of 12 candidates (10-Civil and 02-Electrical/ Mechanical) was revised from “Qualified” to “Not Qualified” in the result for appearing in Document Verification. Roll numbers of these candidates are as follows: 

Similarly, result of 08 candidates of Civil, was revised from “Not Qualified” to “Qualified” for appearing in Document Verification. Roll numbers of these candidates are as follows:

3. Consequent upon Document Verification, 1840 candidates have been finally selected for appointment. Allocation of Posts and Departments to the selected candidates has been made on the basis of ‘merit-cum-order of preference of Departments’ exercised by the candidates at the time of Document Verification. Keeping in view the vacancy position, category-wise details of the 1840 candidates (1506 Civil Engineering, 192 Electrical Engineering and 142 Mechanical Engineering) selected for appointment to the posts in different Departments are given below: 

*01 EWS+OH candidate qualified at UR+OH standard.
**Includes 04 SC, 10 ST, 248 OBC and 97 EWS candidates qualifying as per UR standard.
^18 OH: 04 SC, 01 ST, 07 OBC, 01 EWS and 05 UR category candidates.
^^13 HH: 06 OBC, 02 EWS and 05 UR category candidates.

4. Category wise break-up of the candidates selected for the posts of Junior Engineers along with the total marks obtained by the last selected candidates are given below. In cases where candidates are selected against horizontal vacancies (i.e. 4-OH & 5-HH), total marks of such last selected candidates are reflected against their respective horizontal category, not against their vertical category (0-EWS, 1-SC, 2-ST, 6-OBC, 9-UR).

I. Civil Engineering:

# 01 EWS+OH candidate qualified at UR+OH standard.
* Candidate from Horizontal Category selected against the vacancy.

II. Electrical/ Mechanical Engineering:

Note 1: Candidates selected against horizontal vacancies have been counted in their vertical categories as well.

Note 2: Rows corresponding to Post/Department/Category with ‘Nil’ reported vacancy, have not been included in tables mentioned above.

5. As per the paragraph-17 of the Notice of Examination, in cases where more than one candidate secured the equal aggregate marks, tie cases have been resolved by applying the following methods one after another in the given order, till the tie is resolved: 
(i) Total marks in Paper-II.
(ii) Date of birth, with older candidate placed higher.
(iii) Alphabetical order in the first names of the candidates appeared.

6. There are some candidates in the Select List whose candidatures have been kept as provisional by their concerned Regional Offices. Concerned User Departments will check the eligibility of such candidates thoroughly in all respects before issuing offer of appointment to the candidates.

7. Any discrepancy with respect to the selection/ non-selection/ allocation of post/ User Department, etc. may be brought to the Notice of the Commission within a period of one month. Any such representation received after one month will not be entertained by the Commission.

8. If a candidate is finally selected and does not receive any communication from the Commission or the concerned User Department within a period of one year after declaration of the final result, he/she must bring this to the notice of the User Department immediately thereafter.

9. Appointment to the post of JE (Civil) for the last selected 02 SC, 03 OBC and 01 UR candidates will be subject to the outcome of OA No. 1423/2020 and OA No. 1378/2020 pending before Hon’ble CAT, Principal Bench, New Delhi. In addition, result/ appointment of the last 03 candidates will also be subject to the outcome of OA No. 1797/2020 pending before Hon’ble CAT, Principal Bench, New Delhi.

10. Detailed marks of the selected and non-selected candidates will be uploaded on the website of the Commission on 13.01.2021. This facility will be available for a period of one month i.e. from 13.01.2021 to 12.02.2021. Candidates may check their individual’s marks by using their Registration No. and registered password and click on Result/Marks tab on the candidate dashboard.
