(Syllabus) Haryana PSC: Announcement District Horticulture Officer (Class-II)

It is hereby announced for the information of candidates who have applied for the 4l posts of District Horticulture Officer (Class-II) in Horticulture Department, Haryana in response to Advt. No.5 (vi)/2018) published on 29.12.2018 that the Commission has decided to hold Recruitment/Screening Test for the above said posts followed by viva-voce. Accordingly, the syllabus for the Screening/ recruitment test will be as under:-

Syllabus for the recruitment/shortlisting test:-

Fruits : Area and production of fruits; ecophysiological requirement and cultivation practices of major fruits like mango, citrus, banana, grape, papaya, guava. pineapple, litchi, loquat, phalsa, jackfruit, mangosteen, sapota, cashewnut, ber, pomegranate, date palm, aonla, apple, pear, peach. almond. plum, apricot and cherry. Canopy management, weed control, modern methods of propagation and use of growth regulators in fruit crops; nutrient and water management, high density orcharding; major pests, diseascs, physiological disorders and their control measures.

Vegetables: Cultural and climatic requirement for cultivation of vegetables (potato. tomato, chilli, brinjal, cole crops, okra, peas and beans) and cucurbitaceous crops; organic farming, post-harvest handling. physiological disorders, hybrid seed production. nursery raising techniques. protected cultivation and low tunnel technology.

Flowers: Production technology of flowers (rose. chrysanthemum, carnation, gerbera, gladiolus. tuberose. orchids, anthurium, aster, liliums, tulip, bird of paradise, alstroemeria, dahlia. gypsophilla. limonium, stock, Jasmine, marigold, geranium, crossandra, nerium, hibiscus, barleria. celosia, gomphrena) and cut foliages. Flower seed production; protected cultivation and post-harvest handling of flowers.

Scheme of the Recruitment/Screen ing Test:-

The Examination shall be of two hour duration comprising 100 MCQs (Multiple Choice Questions) in English Language only, carrying one mark each (total marks being 100). There
shall be no negative marking.
