Air Force Common Admission Test : 2012
Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) Is a part of recently introduced Unified Selection System to provide adequate opportunities to the candidates eligible for multiple branches of the IAF to apply through single application. AFCAT is conducted for the following non UPSC entries for induction into Officers’ cadre of the IAF.
- Flying branch
- Short Service Commission (Men / Women)
- Technical branch
- Permanent Commission (Men) / Short Service Commission (Men / Women)
- Ground Duty branches
- Permanent Commission (Men) / Short Service Commission (Men / Women)
Applications are invited for Men and Women for Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) for the Courses commencing July 2012. Invites applications from bright young Indian Men and Women for following SSC/PSC Officers to join in the following courses in Flying, Technical and Ground Duty branches through Indian Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) to be conducted on 28/08/2011 :

- 81st Aeronautical Engineers Course (AEC) Men Permanent Commission Technical Branch
- 10th SSC Flying Branch for Men
- 53rd Short Service Commission Course (SSC) Men & Women Technical Branch
- 132nd Ground Duty Officers Course (GDOC) for Permanent Commission for Men
- 25th Ground Duty Officers Course (GDOC) for Short Service Commission (SSC) for Men
- 39th Short Service Commission (SSC) Flying Branch for Women
- 41st Ground Duty Officers Course (GDOC) for SSC for Women
Education Qualification:
Flying Branches: Academic Qualification: Graduates in
any discipline with minimum 60% marks in aggregate in all papers put together
and have passed Maths & Physics at 10+2 level OR BE/ B.Tech degree with minimum
60% marks in aggregate in all papers put together.
Physical Standards: Height & Weight: Minimum height: 162.5 cms with
correlated weight and leg length in the range of 90 cms (Min) and 120 cms (Max).
Vision: without Glasses: 6/6, 6/9. Myopia-Nil.
Age: 19-23 Yrs.
Note: Candidates who failed in Pilot Aptitude Battery Test in an earlier
attempt OR a Flight Cadet suspended from flying training of Air Force Academy
will not be eligible to apply.
Technical Branch: Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics): BE/ B.Tech with
minimum 60% marks OR cleared Section A & B examination of AMIE by actual studies
and must studied any eight subjects from the 18 subjects listed below. (L1
Physics/ Engineering Physics, L2 Mathematics/ Engg Mathematics L3 Engg Graphics/
Engg Drawing L4 Electrical Engg/ Technology L5 Control Engg, L6 Microprocessors,
L7 Digital Electronics/ Basic Electronics L8 Computer Networks L9 Information
Technology L10 Network Theory Design, L11 Telecommunication systems, L12
Electronic Circuit Design, L13 radar Theory, L14 Switching Theory, L15
Instrumentation, L16 Microwave Engg, L17 Antenna and Wave propagation, L18
Electronic Devices)
Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics): BE/ B.Tech with minimum 60% marks OR

Age: 18-28 yrs
Ground Duty Branches: Administration & Logistics: Academic
Qualification: Graduate Degree in any discipline with minimum 60% marks in
aggregate of all papers put together or a Post Graduate Degree/ Diploma in any
discipline with minimum 60% marks in aggregate of all papers put together.
Age: 20-23 Yrs.
Accounts: Academic Qualification: B.Com with minimum 60% marks in
aggregate of all papers put together or M.Com/ CA/ ICWA with minimum 50% marks
in aggregate of all papers put together .
Age: 20-25 Yrs.
Meteorology: Academic Qualification: MSc in any stream/ Maths/Stati/Geography/
Computer Applications/ Environmental Sciences/ Applied Physics/ Ocenography/
Meterology/ Agricultural Meterology/ Ecology & Environment/ geo-Physics,
Environmental Biology with minimum 50% marks in aggregate of all papers put
together (Provided Maths and physics were studied at Graduation level with
minimum of 55% marks in both)
Age: 20-26 Yrs.
Education: Academic Qualification: Post Graduate in any discipline with
minimum 50% marks in aggregate of all papers put together
Physical Standard: height & Weight: Minimum Height: 167.5 cms (Men),
152.0 cms (Women) with correlated weight.
Age: 20-27 Yrs.
Note: Candidates appearing in final year/ semester examination may also
apply, provided they must fulfill a) No backlog at the time of SSB Testing b)
Candidates should be able to provide provisional/ original degree certificate
issued by the university latest by 15th of the month preceding month of
commencement of course.
