(Notification) Upper Division Clerks Grade Limited Departmental Competitive Examination, 2016
No. 3/8/2016-P&P-II - The Staff Selection Commission will hold a Limited Departmental Competitive Examination on 03-12-2016 at DELHI, ALLAHABAD, MUMBAI, BANGALORE, GUWAHATI, KOLKATA, CHENNAI, CHANDIGARH AND RAIPUR for making additions to the Select List of Upper Division Grade of the following Services/Cadres (subject to availability of confirmed number of vacancies):-
(i) Central Secretariat Clerical Service;
(ii) Armed Forces Headquarters Clerical Service;
(iii) Railway Board Secretariat Clerical Service;
(iv) Central Hindi Directorate, Ministry of Human Resource Development(Deptt.of
Higher Education)
(v) Election Commission of India Clerical Service
(vi) Central Vigilance Commission
(vii) Ministry of External Affairs
(viii) Central Administrative Tribunal (PB)
(ix) Ministry of Environment and Forest
Conditions of Eligibility:
Any permanent, regular or temporary, regularly appointed person of the Lower Division Grade of the Central Secretariat Clerical Service, Armed Forces Headquarters Clerical Service, Railway Board Secretariat Clerical Service, Election Commission of India Clerical Service and Central Hindi Directorate, Central Vigilance Commission, Ministry of External Affairs and Central Administrative Tribunal, Ministry of Environment and Forests who satisfies on crucial date the following conditions shall be eligible to appear at the examination.
Length of Service:-He/She should have on the crucial date that is on 01.08.2015 rendered not less than 5 years approved and continuous Service in the Lower Division Grade of the Central Secretariat Clerical Service, Armed Forces Headquarters Clerical Service, Railway Board Secretariat Clerical Service, and Central Hindi Directorate and not less than 3 years of approved and continuous service in the post of Lower Division Clerk in Election Commission of India Clerical Service counted from the date of the candidate ‘s appointment in the said grade.
Age Limit:
Candidates should not be more than 50 years of age on 01.08.2016. This provision is not applicable in case of LDCs belonging to Armed Forces Headquarters Clerical Service
Exam Syllabus:
A. Part-1 (Computer Based/Written Examination)
Computer based / written examination carrying a maximum of 300 marks in the subject as shown at (B) below. There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in computer based examination in Paper-I. The Commission, at its discretion may fix individual qualifying marks in any paper or part thereof
Part-II
Evaluation of record of service of such of the candidates who obtained minimum standard in Part-I as may be fixed by the Commission in their discretion, carrying a maximum of 100 marks.
(B) The subject of the Computer based/Written Examinnation in Part-I, the maximum marks allotted to each paper and the time allowed will be as follows:

Paper-I will be of “Objective Multiple Choice Type” whereas Paper-II will be of descriptive type.
How to Apply:
Candidates seeking admission to the examination must apply to the Regional Director (Northern Region), Staff Selection Commission, Block No.12, C.G.O. Complex, Lodhi Road, New Delhi-110504 through their cadre controlling authorities. Applications must be submitted in the prescribed form. The candidates may use the format of the application form typed neatly in double space in A-4 size paper by downloading the same from the website of the Commission i.e. http://ssc.nic.in.
