Staff Selection Commission

Staff Selection Commission conducted an open competitive examination for recruitment to the post of Jr. Engineers (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Quantity Surveying and Contract) Exam. 2012 on 8.4.2012 on all India basis. The final result of the said examination declared on 20-09-2012. The Commission has now decided to release the reserve list for appointment to vacant post(s).

It has been decided by the Commission to fill up one post of J.E. (Civil) in the Department of Information Technology from reserve list. The details of selection is as under.

Further Commission has decided to release reserve list for the candidates who were not selected because of invalid option or incomplete options and available vacancies in their turn have been considered and allotted against unfilled vacancies in the order of default option (in the order options for Department i.e. A, B, C, D and E and Preferences i.e. A,B,C and D respectively occur in application form). Candidates in the Reserve List will be en-bloc junior to the candidates in the Select List.

Note:

  1. Explanation for Department Code–B-MES, C- Department of Posts, Explanation for Post Code - B-JE (QS&C), C-JE (Electrical).

  2. In MES for the posts of JE (Electrical and Mechanical) respectively, all candidates who had qualified in Written Examination in either Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering and were otherwise eligible have been considered.

  3. Category, Preferences for Department/Posts of the candidates were taken from the Verified Data sent by Regional Offices.

As per Notice of the Examination, in cases where more than one candidate secured equal aggregate marks, tie was resolved by applying the following methods one after another:-

  1. Total marks in the written examination.

  2. Marks in Paper-II

  3. Marks in Paper-I

  4. Date of birth, with older candidates placed higher.

  5. Alphabetical order in the first names of the candidates appear.

The list of recommended candidates is purely PROVISIONAL and subject to the candidates fulfilling all the eligibility conditions prescribed in the Notice of said examination and also subject to, among other things, thorough verification of their identity with reference to their photographs, signatures, handwritings, etc. on the application forms, admission certificates, etc.

It is clarified that actual allocation of finally selected candidates to different regions will be made by the respective cadre authority viz. MES depending on availability of vacancies in various regions /places.

The category status in respect of the candidates belonging to reserve categories has been indicated along with their roll numbers. It is important for such candidates to note that they have been declared qualified only for the category mentioned against their Roll Numbers. If any candidate does not actually belong to the category mentioned against his Roll Number or his roll number and name do not match, he may not be eligible to be included in the list. It is, therefore, in the interest of the candidates concerned to immediately contact the respective Regional Offices of the Commission in all such cases where they do not belong to the category shown against their Roll Numbers.
