Introduce Aptitude Test In Schools, Colleges, Universities: HPPSC Chairman To CM
SHIMLA: Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (HPPSC) chairman K S Tomar has demanded that the state government should introduce aptitude test in schools, colleges and universities to prepare students for competitive examinations like HAS, judicial services and UPSC. He said at present, participation of candidates in such examinations was very low in the state.
In a letter to chief minister Virbhadra Singh, he said available data showed that only 40% to 45% candidates appeared in these examinations and one of the major factors responsible for poor participation was introduction of aptitude test in all competitive examinations. "Unfortunately, orientation for facing this test is not given in schools and colleges in Himachal Pradesh, therefore our students are not well prepared to take such exams," Tomar said in the letter.
