Even SSC exams not free from corruption: 9 arrested in Delhi cheating racket

For those youngsters who believed that the Staff Selection Commission graduate level exams were free and fair, here’s some disheartening news.

Delhi Police Crime Branch on Sunday arrested nine persons, including policemen and teachers for running a cheating racket during the Graduate Level Examination-2013 held by Staff Selection Commission across the country.

One of the accused, Macchita Malik is a resident of Sector 23 Rohini. Malik is a Sales Tax Inspector in the city and has appeared in an interview for Civil Services. Two of the accused -- Ashu Sharma and Mukesh Kumar -- are teachers at Municipal Corporation schools. Sahil Kadyan and Ajit Singh, both residents of Sonepat, are constable and head constable respectively. Lohit Vats of Najafgarh is a Lower Division Clerk at the Ministry of External Affairs in Delhi. Amit Kumar of Rewari is also a teacher, while Ravinder Singh and Kulvir Singh are students.

A Crime Branch team led by Inspector B. K. Badola raided a house at Pooth Kalan on April 21 on a tip-off and found all the nine accused present inside a room with laptops, a printer and mobile phones.

The accused had received the question paper on an electronic device from one Bijender Chhikara and were trying to solve the same.
