BRO opens Kashmir-Leh highway
- Road connectivity with Ladakh from the Kashmir valley was re-established by the Border Roads Organization (BRO) by removing the massive snow cover that had accumulated during the winters.
- The BRO added another feather in its already studded cap, by opening the mighty ZojiLa Pass on Srinagar-Kargil-Leh road.
- Located at an altitude of 11,650 feet, ZojiLa is a strategic pass, that provides vital link between Kashmir Valley and Ladakh and is the key to operational preparedness of the Armed Forces.
- The renewed focus on infrastructure development of border areas, mandated requirement of keeping the closure of ZojiLa Pass to the minimum.
- The ZojiLa Pass was kept open till 4 January 2022 and snow clearance operations recommenced on 15 February by Project Beacon and Vijayak of the BRO.
- After sustained efforts by BRO the connectivity across Zojila Pass was initially established on 3 March and after that, improvement of road surface was carried out for safe passage of vehicles.
- The Pass was opened on Saturday and trial vehicle passed through it towards Kargil, thereby bringing much needed relief to the people of Ladakh. The Pass was opened this year after a closure of 73 days, as compared to average of 135 days in previous years.
- Speaking on the occasion, Lt General Rajeev Chaudhry, DG, BRO, commended the officials of Project Beacon and Vijayak in achieving this feat.
- It will facilitate availability of essential goods and supplies for people of Ladakh and also assist in movement of Army convoys.
- He reiterated BRO’s commitment to be at the forefront in nation-building and be the best construction agency in the extremes.

Gabriel Boric Font becomes Chile's youngest president
- Gabriel Boric Font, who was sworn in as the new President of Chile, has become the youngest president of Chile so far.
- Boric is a left-leaning former student leader who says that he is determined to improve the lives of all Chileans and attack deep that inequality that has sparked massive protests.
- Boric came to prominence when he as a law student became the president of the University of Chile Student Federation from 2011 to 2012.
- As a student representative, Boric became one of the leading figures of the 2011–2013 Chilean student protests. Boric was twice elected to the Chamber of Deputies representing the Magallanes and Antarctic district, first as an independent candidate in 2013 and then in 2017 as part of the Broad Front, a left-wing coalition he created with several other parties.
- Though Gabriel Boric never graduated from law school, he is the founding member of Social Convergence, which was formed in 2018 and is one of the constituent parties of Broad Front.
- New President Boric was also one of the key politicians to negotiate the agreement that paved the way for a referendum to change the Constitution.

Jio Platforms buys 25% stake in US-based tech startup TWO Platforms
- Digital service company JioPlatforms announced an investment of $15 million in Silicon Valley-based deep-tech startup Two Platforms for acquiring 25 per cent equity stake on a fully diluted basis.
- Founded by former Samsung Technology and Advanced Research president and CEO PranavMistry, Two Platforms is an artificial reality company with focus on building interactive and immersional AI experiences.
- "We are impressed with the strong experience and capabilities of the founding team at Two in the areas of AI/ ML, AR, metaverse and Web 3.0. We look forward to working together with Two to help expedite development of new products in the areas of interactive AI, immersive gaming and metaverse," Jio Director AkashAmbani said in a statement.
- After text and voice, Two believes the next chapter of artificial intelligence (AI) is visual and interactive. Its artificial reality platform enables real-time AI voice and video calls, digital humans, immersive spaces and lifelike gaming.
