Conduct Of Data Entry And Typing Test Skill Test Schedule

Instruction To The Candidates For Typewriting Test And Data Entry Operators (On Computer)

The Commission will provide the Computer for the test.

The Skill Test in Typewriting Test and Data Entry is a qualifying test only. It will consist of one paper on running matter in the following manner:

POST SKILL TEST NORMS ON COMPUTER
Lower Division Clerk English Typing @ 35 w.p.m
Hindi Typing @ 30 w.p.m
(Time Allowed – 10 Minutes)
( 35 w.p.m and 30 w.p.m correspond to 10500 KDPH/9000
KDPH on an average of 5 key depressions for each word)
Data Entry Operators Data Entry of approx. 8000 Key Depressions
(Time Allowed – 15 Minutes)
  • Candidates are required to report to the Supervisor half-an-hour before the commencement of the test, or at reporting time indicated on their Admission Certificate.

  • Candidates are required to bring original copies of the following certificates/documents along with attested copies thereof at the time of test, failing  which, they may not be admitted to the test.
    (i) Matric or equivalent certificate in support of Date of Birth (Board Certificate, Marks Sheets)
    (ii) Education Certificate in support of educational qualification (10+2).
    (iii) SC/ST/Ex-S/OBC/PH certificate in the ‘PRESCRIBED’’ format issued by the competent authority, in case candidate belongs to any such category. For PH candidates, a Proforma, as per the notice of the Advertisement (available on Commission’s website http://ssc.nic.in.).
    (iv) “No Objection” certificate if you are already in Govt. Service.
    (v) A recent passport size photograph.

  • Candidates should type their particulars (Roll No. etc.) in the space provided on the screen, verify his/her personal details on the next screen and press the button ‘’CONFIRM’’. He should familiarize himself with the Instructions available on Commission’s website http://ssc.nic.in.

  • After completing typing of the running passage once, candidates are advised not to retype the passage. If spare time is available candidates may utilize the time for checking the typescript and making corrections.

  • Immediately after the Test is over, the candidate will have to write in his/her own handwriting one paragraph of about 50-60 words from the Shorthand passage given to him/her on a separate sheet given to him at the test centre and will have to put his/her name, Roll No. and signature at the end.

  • The post of Data Entry Operators skill test is compulsory and no exemption is applicable.

  • They should not take either script or any blank typing paper out of the Examination Hall.

  • Every candidate will be required to sign the photo bearing attendance sheet with his/her Roll Number thereon and put his/her left Hand Thumb impression before the beginning of the Test.

  • Candidates must also abide by further instructions, if any, which may be given to them by the Supervisor. If any candidate fails to do so or indulges in disorderly or improper conduct, he/she will render himself/herself liable to expulsion from the Test or such other penalty as the Commission may deem fit.

  • Any request for change in time/date/centre/medium of the test will not be entertained by the Commission under any circumstances.

  • Possession of Mobile/Cellular Phones (whether in use or not) in the Examination Hall is strictly prohibited. Failure to do so shall invite disciplinary action as the Commission may deem fit, including cancellation of candidature. Candidates are advised in their own interest not to bring these gadgets to the Examination venue as there will be no facility for safe-keeping.

  • Silence must be observed in the Examination Hall.

  • Smoking/chewing tobacco in the Examination Hall is strictly prohibited.
