- Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts Combined Graduate Level Examination every year for recruitment to Group ‘B’ and Group ‘C’ posts every year. Around 20 Lacs candidates compete for 20,000 vacancies in various disciplines from Central Ministries and Departments.
- The SSC CGL Tier I Exam covers four Sections – Reasoning, Mathematics, English Language and General Awareness. The time allowed in this Exam is 2 hours, to attempt 200 Questions .

Looking at the above pattern it is evident that 2 months preparation is necessary for cracking SSC CGL Tier I Exam.

Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university or equivalent. Computer proficiency/ skill test is required for certain type of posts.
Age limit: 18 to 32 years (varies for different posts)

Time management: - Time management is one of the important aspects in order to qualify any exam.
Due importance must be given to every subject and time to prepare to be managed accordingly.
A minimum of 10 hours should be put in daily for the preparation of SSC CGL Tier I Exam.

Regular Practice: -It’s important to practice all varieties of question of each section. Try making shortcuts and strategies to approach a particular set of problem in your own style.
Timely Revision: -it’s important to ensure timely revision of each and every section. This can be done daily, weekly, monthly; depending upon individual to individual.
Solve Mock Test Papers: -It’s important to solve at least 15 mock test papers before the exam.
Notes: - Make notes of all the major sections so that you can go through them before your exam.
A lot of people will suggest you to go through newspaper daily, but a smart way to cover up important current events is by taking a monthly subscription of CSR or India Today.
Some Examination Tips:-
Read Carefully: -It’s very important to read both the questions and options given carefully. Many a times the options are similar to one another and candidate’s ends up answering the wrong option even when he knows how the question needs to be solved.
Do not guess: - it’s important to attempt all the question of each section but avoid guessing as this will hurt your result badly owing to the negative marking.
In the exam, attempt the section that you are comfortable and confident with first.
