(Article) SSC CGL Examination Pattern
Staff Selection Commission is set to make recruitment to group C (Non-Technical) and group B (Non-gazetted) posts in various departments of government of India in 2014 through CGL Exam. SSC Organizes this examination is three phases
First Phase of this examination is Tier-I. There will be four sections in the question paper.
(i) English Language & Comprehension
(ii) General Knowledge
(iii) Numerical Aptitude
(iv) General Intelligence & Reasoning
After that, tier-II exam will be organized by SSC, for the candidates who have passed the Tier-I. Unlike tier-I , in tier-II examination there are two sections. First Section is Numerical Aptitude and the second section is English Language & Comprehension. The numerical aptitude section will consist of 100 Questions and the English section will comprise of 200 questions.
Finally, the third phase of the exam is tier-III. It is meant only for some specific posts like tax assistant. It is actually a typing test. The requisite typing speed for candidates from Hindi medium is 30 words per minute and for those from English medium, the typing speed is ideally 35 words per minute.
Nature of Mistakes
A. Full Mistakes : The following errors are treated as full mistakes :----
- For every omission of word/ figure.--
- For every substitution of a wrong word /figure.--
- For every addition of a word / figure not found in the passage.
B. Half Mistakes : The following errors are treated as half mistakes :--
- Spacing Errors Where no space is provided between two words, e.g. ‘Ihope’ or undesired space is provided between the words or letters of a word e.g. hope I have, ‘I hxxave’.
- For every spelling error committed by way of repetition, or addition or transposition or omission or substitution of a letter/letters, e.g. the word ‘spelling’ typed as ‘seeplings’ etc.
- Wrong Capitalisation: Wrong use of capital letter for small letter and
vice- versa. (This does not apply to Hindi typewriting scripts)
