(Notification) AFCAT :  Air Force Common Admission Test-2018 (01/2019)

1. Indian Air Force invites Indian citizens (Men and Women) to be part of this elite force as Group A Gazetted Officers in Flying and Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) branches. Online examination will be conducted on 16 Feb 19 and 17 Feb 19 for AFCAT exam.
2. Candidates are to ensure their eligibility for the examination, as follows:-

(a) Candidates applying for the examination should ensure that they fulfill all the eligibility conditions for admission to the examination. Their admission at all the stages of examination viz. Written examination and SSB test will be purely provisional, subject to their satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions. If on verification at any time before or after the written examination or AFSB Testing, it is found that they do not fulfil any of the eligibility conditions,  their candidature will be cancelled by the IAF.
(b) Mere issue of Admit card/Call up letter to the candidate will not imply that his/her candidature has been finally accepted by Indian Air Force.

Education Qualification:

Flying Branch: Graduate in any discipline from a recognized university with minimum 60% of marks and have passed Maths and Physics at 10+2 level

Ground Duty Technical Branch: Four years Graduation/Integrated Post Graduation in relevant branch of Engineering/Technology and have passed Maths and Physics at 10+2 level with 60% marks  

Ground Duty Non Technical Branch: Administration and Logistics- Graduate in relevant discipline from a recognized university with minimum 60% of marks.

Accounts – Bachelor Degree in Commerce from a recognized university with minimum 60% of marks.

Education – MBA/MCA/MA/M.Sc. from a recognized university with minimum 50% of marks.

Meteorology –  Post Graduation in any stream from a recognized university

NCC Special Entry

Flying Branch- NCC Air wing Senior Division ‘C’ Certificate

Physical Standerds :

Height Male: 157.5 cm , Female: 152 cm

Running – 1.6 km in 10 minutes

Push up – 10 push ups and 3 chin ups 

Payment of Fees  :

Online testing will be conducted for AFCAT entry at various centers. Candidates registering for AFCAT entry will have to pay an amount of Rs. 250/- as examination fee. However, candidates registering for Meteorology entry and NCC Special entry are not required to pay. Details of conduct, examination centers and mode of payment are available in the notification

Age :

(a) Flying Branch. 20 to 24 years as on 01 Jul 2019  i.e. born between 02 January 1996 to 01 January 2000 (both dates inclusive).Upper age limit for candidates holding valid and current Commercial Pilot License issued by DGCA (India) is relaxable upto 26 years i.e. born between 02 January 1994 to 01 January 2000 (both dates inclusive).
(b) Ground Duty (Technical/Non-Technical) Branches). 20 to 26 years as on 01 Jan 2020 i.e. born between 02 January 1994 to 01 January 2000 (both dates inclusive)

Method of Selection :

Selection in the Indian Air Force is fair and merit based. Attempt to influence the selection process at any stage is liable to lead to termination of candidature or initiation of service and legal action against the concerned individual.
