The Central University of Karnataka invites applications from Indian Nationals for the following positions:-

Hindi Officer:

  • Number of Posts: 01
  • Pay Scale: Rs.15600- 39100 (Grade Pay Rs.5,400/-)
  • Qualification: a. Master’s Degree in Hindi with atleast 55% marks or its equivalent from any recognized University with English as a subject at the degree level.
    b. Atleast five years experience in translation work from English to Hindi or Vice-versa preferably of technical or Scientific literature or Five Years experience of teaching/research/writing or Journalism in Hindi.
    Desirable: Knowledge of Sanskrit or any Indian Language.
  • Age: Not more than 40 years

Hindi Translator:

  • Number of Posts: 01
  • Pay Scale: Rs.9300 – 34800 (Grade Pay Rs.4,200/-)
  • Qualification: a. Master’s Degree from any recognized University in English/Hindi with English/Hindi as one of the Subject at degree level.
    b. Recognized Diploma/Certificate Course in translation from Hindi to English and English to Hindi or vice-versa/two years experience of translation work from Hindi to English and English to Hindi and vice-versa in Central/State Government Offices/ Autonomous Bodies.
    Desirable: Knowledge of Sanskrit or any Indian Language.
  • Age: Not more than 30 years

Hindi Typist:

  • Number of Posts: 01
  • Pay Scale: Rs.5200 –20200 (Grade Pay Rs.1,900/-)
  • Qualification: Pass in 10+2 or equivalent qualification from a recognized Board or University.
    Candidate should have proficiency in Hindi Type Writing with a minimum Speed of 25 words per minute.
  • Age: Not more than 25 years

Centre for classical Language Kannada (Tenure based – 2010-2011 to 2014 – 2015):

Post Doctoral Fellow:

  • Number of Posts: 01
  • Pay Scale: Rs.25000/- per month (Fixed)
  • Qualification: Applicant possessing Ph.D degree should be a regularly appointed permanent teacher of Universities/Institutions/Colleges recognized under Section 2(f) and 12 B of the UGC Act, 1956 and should not be more than 45 years of age at the time of submission of the application form. In case of Women, SC/ST/OBC (non creamy layer)/Physically Handicapped, Minorities, the age limit shall be 50years.
  • Tenure of Appointment: up to five years. Initially for a period of two years extendable up to 5 years based on performance.

Junior Research Fellows:

  • Number of Posts: 02
  • Pay Scale: Rs.12,500/- pm each (Fixed)
  • Qualification: Candidate who have cleared JRF are preferred. Candidates who have passed Master degree in Kannada with specialization in linguistics, epigraphy, comparative literature and cultural history, with minimum of 55% marks. Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET. Research publications in refereed Journals. Scholars/Pandits well versed with the classical language studies but not necessarily part of mainstream education system will also be considered.The selected candidates should undertake their research work at the CUK campus only.
    • Tenure of Appointment: up to five years. Initially for a period of two years extendable up to 5 years based on performance.

Office Staff for Secretarial assistance/support for field work on hiring/Contract basis:

  • Number of Posts: 02
  • Pay Scale: Rs.8,300/- pm each (Fixed)
  • Qualification: A Bachelor’s Degree with minimum of 50% marks from a recognized University. A typing speed of 30 w.p.m in English and Kannada. Good working knowledge of computer applications( English and Kannada)
  • Age: Not more than 30 years.

The same can also be obtained by hand by payment of Rs.50/- through Demand Draft of any nationalized bank drawn in favour of Central University of Karnataka and payable at Gulbarga or Rs.100/- if the application is to be obtained by post. Filled-in application form along with registration fee of Rs.250/- (in case of downloaded applications Rs.300/-) through crossed Demand Draft drawn in favour of Central University of Karnataka on any Nationalized bank payable at Gulbarga. The filled in applications together with the requisite Demand Drafts and copies of other documents viz., education & experience certificates, publications, etc., should reach the Registrar, Central University of Karnataka, 2nd Floor, Karya Soudha, Gulbarga University Campus, GULBARGA 585 106 on or before 9th May, 2011.
